We’ve all heard about the autistic “savant” that special breed of autistic person that has almost superhuman powers. They are great musicians, artists, software writers. Some like Kim Peek depicted in the film Rainman have incredible powers of memory.
It is even thought by many people that Einstein, Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook creator) and even Bill Gates are on the Autistic spectrum. Whilst they may not necessarily be “savants” they certainly display a rare level of genius.

So what about the rest of us with Aspergers syndrome or high functioning autism? How many of us also have a really special ability? I do have a gift for music and film making that has been my career since the mid 1980’s but I wouldn’t class my ability at the level of savant.
So my question is, what are your talents and skills? Have your obsessions become incredible skills and are you able to use them in your career?
I often think there may be autistic people out there that have a potentially genius level of skill for an activity they have not been introduced to yet.
In fact I often wonder if I have an as yet undiscovered savant ability that will make me huge amounts of money one day!

I have noticed that I have good problemsolving abilities and the seeing the underlying causes to the problems facing society today, but Im used to People not caring what I have to say…Most problems has often simlple solutions I have also been known for my physical strength over the years.
