At last! could there now be new services for people with autism in the UK?

The UK autism bill was passed a couple of years ago. It proposed that more services should be available for autistic people and that autism training should be given to doctors, police and others that may come in to contact with autistic people.

As yet I have not seen any difference either in services or awareness/knowledge from doctors or police etc.

A few months ago, I signed an online petition sent to me by the National Autistic Society. They have been campaigning on behalf of people with autism to get the real change promised in the UK autism bill. It looks as though on the 2nd April we will finally know what the government has got planned for us.

I am really hoping that the government will show some real commitment to improving the lives of adults with autism. For now, we just have to wait and see. For those of you that would like to see what the NAS are trying to achieve with their campaign, I have put a link below to the email sent out
